Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) seeks dedicated staff for after-school programming serving K–12 students in the Oakland region. You will lead engaging academic and enrichment activities, supervise groups of up to 22 youth, and foster positive relationships that support belonging, confidence, and engagement.

Role requires after-school hours, background check, and TB clearance. Experience with kids and ability to communicate professionally with students and families are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Must have an Associate Degree or higher, or 48 college units, or pass the Instructional Aide exam.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and TB test clearance.
  • Must be able to work every day during after-school hours and commit to an academic school year.
  • Experience with kids and ability to supervise up to 22 students while engaging in activities.
  • Must communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engaging academic, enrichment, recreation, and social-emotional learning activities for K–12 students.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships that foster student belonging and engagement.
  • Support student behavior using restorative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
  • Provide homework assistance and adapt activities to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds.
  • Supervise groups of up to 22 youth during activities and collaborate with staff and families.
