Job summary

Sunnyside Community Services, Inc. seeks a Leadership After-School Activity Specialist for SONYC in Elmhurst, Queens. This part-time role focuses on leading leadership activities for grades K–8, with SEL and life-skill components, in a safe, engaging after-school setting.

Responsibilities include supervising participants, preparing materials, and delivering STEAM and leadership programming, while collaborating with staff and ensuring program quality.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Available Monday – Friday during program hours (3 – 6 pm).
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or 18+ credits in education/leadership.
• Experience teaching leadership and in afterschool environments.
• NYC Public Schools clearance process requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants with the Group Leader and ensure safety.
• Prepare materials in advance for activities and student understanding.
• Design and deliver STEAM and leadership-focused programming.
• Integrate SEL competencies into daily programming.
• Collaborate with the Program Director and Content Specialist.
