Job summary

Sunnyside Community Services is seeking an After-School Group Leader for P.S. 150Q in Sunnyside, Queens. This part-time role supports K–5th grade participants, supervises activities, and helps implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons under the guidance of senior staff.

Responsibilities include attendance, homework tracking, creating lesson plans, leading clubs, and coordinating with program staff. The position runs weekdays after school with training and events scheduled as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college of relevant degree preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience working with children in a school environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of K–5th grade children with Activity Specialist/Group Leaders; ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Maintain daily attendance, homework completion, and health check logs.
• Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Create presentations and visuals for participants.
• Lead club activities and SEL activities as required by funders.
• Assist with homework help and track completion of assignments.
