Job summary

Sunnyside Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Group Leader at our Sunnyside Campus in Elmhurst, NY. You will supervise youth groups, support Instructors, and help run age-appropriate activities during after-school hours.

Requirements include a high school diploma (some college preferred), 18+ years old, and availability Monday–Friday 2:30–6:00 pm. Compensation is $17–$17.50 per hour with opportunities for additional hours based on programming.

Qualifications

• Must have strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Experience working with youth and in after-school settings is preferred.
• Commitment through end of school year and successful clearance trainings.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of all program participants.
• Submit age-appropriate lesson plans timely.
• Assist Instructors with lessons and activities.
• Lead, plan and prep special community projects.
• Supervise Summer Youth Employment Program and volunteers.
• Provide constant supervision to groups.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized spaces.
• Motivate participants and ensure engagement.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
