Job summary

Good Shepherd Services in New York is seeking an After School Group Leader to supervise, plan and deliver a safe, engaging program for youth from 2 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Friday during the school year.

You will develop a sequenced curriculum with arts, literacy and enrichment activities, mentor participants, coordinate with instructors and school staff, and communicate with families to showcase student growth.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
High School/GED Diploma and 1 year related experience required.
Experience building camp culture through chants, team building activities, and community building preferred.
Commitment to working with youth from diverse backgrounds; high quality services.
Commitment to a strength-based, youth and family development and trauma-informed perspective.

Responsibilities

Overall supervision and management of identified group of participants.
Engage participants in after school activities and model appropriate behavior.
Ensure safety of participants at all times.
Engage in outreach activities to ensure attendance and participation.
Provide support to activity instructors and other group leaders.
Develop and facilitate a sequenced and thematic curriculum including arts & crafts.
