Job summary

Good Shepherd Services in New York City is seeking an After School Group Leader to oversee the safety, development, management, organization and planning of their group, including integrated educational projects, recreation, arts and crafts and group-building activities. Reports To: Program Director @ PS306. Hours: Up to 20 hours per week; Non-Exempt.

Salary: $18.00 - $19.00 / hour. You will supervise participants, engage them in activities, develop a sequenced curriculum, support instructors

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year related experience leading youth activities.
• Experience building a camp culture through chants and team building preferred.
• Ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds in a strength-based, trauma-informed approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage an identified group of participants.
• Engage participants in after-school activities and model appropriate behavior.
• Ensure safety of participants at all times.
• Develop and facilitate a sequenced curriculum and activities.
• Collaborate with activity instructors and other group leaders.
• Plan culminating events and engage parents.
• Maintain records and monitor attendance.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings.
