Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Group Leader to set goals for program participants, facilitate activities, and prepare curriculum and lesson plans. The role ensures a safe and learning environment for children in NYC programs.

Responsibilities include homework help, supervision, behavior documentation, supply maintenance, data collection, meetings, and related duties as assigned. Strong organizational skills and experience with children are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Content-specific experience (e.g., sports, arts, literacy).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework help, facilitate activities and supervise children in programs outside of school day hours.
• Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance.
• Assist tutors and activity specialists to manage and document behavior.
• Maintain supplies.
• Assist and maintain data collection and upkeep of participants documents.
• Attend all necessary program meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
