Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Group Leader to guide program participants and help create engaging, safe after-school experiences. You will set goals, prepare curriculum, and ensure a positive learning environment after school hours.

Responsibilities include homework help, supervising children, documenting attendance and behavior, and collaborating with tutors and activity staff to maintain participant records and program quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Content-specific experience (e.g., sports, arts, literacy) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Providing homework help, facilitating activities and supervising children in programs outside of school day hours.
• Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance.
• Assist tutors and activity specialists to manage and document behavior.
• Assist and maintain data collection and upkeep of participants documents.
• Attend all necessary program meetings.
• Maintain supplies and perform other related duties as assigned.
