Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Group Leader to support after-school programs across New York City. You will set goals for participants, facilitate activities, and prepare curriculum and lesson plans while maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities include supervising children, providing homework help, and documenting attendance and behavior. Work hours are Monday–Friday 1:30 PM–6:00 PM, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Content-specific experience (e.g., sports, arts, literacy) preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Prioritizes, adheres to timelines and multitasks.

Responsibilities

• Providing homework help, facilitating activities and supervising children in programs outside of school day hours.
• Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance.
• Assist tutors and activity specialists to manage and document behavior.
• Maintain supplies.
• Assist and maintain data collection and upkeep of participants documents.
• Attend all necessary program meetings.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
