Job summary

The Child Center of NY seeks a Group Leader to set goals, facilitate activities, and prepare curriculum for program participants. You will maintain a safe learning environment and support tutors across over 50 locations and 100 programs in NYC.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, experience with children, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Scheduling is Monday–Friday, 1:50pm–5:15pm, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Content-specific experience (e.g., sports, arts, literacy).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Providing homework help, facilitating activities and supervising children in programs outside of school day hours.
  • Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance.
  • Assist tutors and activity specialist to manage and document behavior.
  • Maintain supplies.
  • Assist and maintain in data collection and upkeep of participants documents.
  • Attend all necessary program meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
