Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a part-time Group Leader for after-school programs in New York City. You will set goals for participants, facilitate activities, and prepare curriculum to create a safe, engaging environment after school hours.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of experience with children. The schedule is Monday–Friday from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM, with compensation at $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multitask.
• Reliable, responsible and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Provide homework help and supervise children after school hours.
• Supervise and monitor children and take daily attendance.
• Assist tutors and activity specialists to manage and document behavior.
• Maintain supplies.
• Assist with data collection and upkeep of participant documents.
• Attend program meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
