Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy is seeking a part-time Chess Instructor to teach elementary school children in a small-group setting after school. You will lead lessons, guide practice games, and manage a classroom of 10-20 students using our curriculum.

Trai ning is provided. A valid vehicle for transportation and the ability to lift materials are required; knowledge of chess rules and enthusiasm for teaching young learners are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the rules and basic strategy of chess, or willing to learn.
• Experience or interest in working with elementary-age children; classroom experience a plus.
• Reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use our curriculum to demonstrate and communicate basic chess rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Store and maintain teaching equipment and materials.
