Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy is seeking part-time chess instructors to teach elementary students in a small-group setting after school. You will lead lessons, guide practice games, and help students apply basic rules and strategy while maintaining a positive, safe classroom environment.

Training is provided, and the schedule features after-school hours with setup and cleanup time. A vehicle for transportation is preferred and the role offers flexible part-time hours.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in the rules and basic strategy of chess, or willing to learn.
• Experience or interest in working with elementary-age children; classroom experience is a plus.
• Have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use our curriculum to demonstrate and communicate basic rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Responsibly store and maintain teaching equipment and materials.
