Job summary

Silver Knights Chess Academy is seeking a part-time Chess Instructor to teach elementary students (ages 5-11) in a small group setting and foster a love of the game. You don’t need to be a master, just enthusiastic and able to explain moves clearly.

You will receive thorough, paid training and work during after-school hours, with a flexible schedule and opportunities to contribute to a fun, educational program. A reliable vehicle and willingness to drive are a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledgeable in rules and basic chess strategy or willingness to learn.
• Experience or interest in working with elementary-age children; classroom experience a plus.
• Have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs of teaching equipment.
• Ability to learn and use new software tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a classroom of 10-20 students.
• Use curriculum to teach basic rules and strategy.
• Promote good sportsmanship among students.
• Store and maintain teaching equipment and materials.
