Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking an AFO Director to lead the Accounting and Financial Outsourcing practice within the Business Consulting Group. You will drive strategy, operations, people development, and client delivery, aligning with firm growth goals and technology-enabled solutions.

Based in the Indianapolis market, you will oversee planning, governance, and delivery across multiple clients, focusing on scalable processes, risk management, and high-quality advisory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• CPA, CMA, or another relevant credential preferred.
• Ten or more years of progressively responsible accounting, advisory, or professional services experience, including at least five years leading high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual AFO operating plan and budget.
• Own practice performance, including revenue, profitability, and client satisfaction.
• Establish scalable delivery models, engagement workflows, and service standards.
• Monitor engagement economics and resource needs; take corrective action.
• Lead evaluation and adoption of accounting platforms and AI-enabled tools.
• Standardize core processes across industry verticals.
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures for data security and client onboarding.
