Job summary

Bickerdike Redevelopment Corp. in Chicago, IL seeks a Compliance Specialist to support the rental housing portfolio under the guidance of the Compliance Manager and VP of Property Management.

The role emphasizes file audits, regulatory reporting, and maintaining compliant records for affordable housing programs. The position requires at least 1 year in affordable property management compliance, knowledge of tax credits and Section 8, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and OneSite.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in affordable property management compliance.
• Experience with tax credit and Section 8 is required.
• BA in a related field preferred; strong computer literacy in MS Office.
• In-person work only; driving may be required for field tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist internal tenant file audits for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare for funder site visits and external file audits; help correct files.
• Coordinate and gather resident file information for compliance reporting.
• Maintain and utilize property-specific recertification templates.
• Oversee compliance requirements for CLIHTF and other funding programs.
• Attend on-site file audits to represent compliance staff when needed.
• Update forms and documents under direction of the compliance manager.
• Develop and implement internal and external compliance policies and training.
• Support OneSite setup and document uploads; address field questions.
• Manage file room policies, storage, purging, and destruction of documents.
