Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Deputy Superintendent, AFC/BE Maintenance to lead the maintenance operations for AFC/OMNY across the subway system, including off-system locations during evenings, nights, and weekends.

The role directs a maintenance workforce, prioritizes service calls, software/hardware upgrades, and safety, ensuring high availability and reliability of fare collection devices throughout the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent, plus six years of full-time related experience.
• Three years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Experience with AFC/OMNY systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct AFC/OMNY maintenance operations across subway system during evening, night, and weekend shifts.
• Ensure availability and reliability of AFC equipment through maintenance and service-management.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and security of AFC/OMNY equipment during off-peak hours.
• Deploy and direct maintenance staff across multiple field offices.
• Manage preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and software enhancements.
• Investigate Cassie Case complaints and document closures.
