Job summary

The MBTA is seeking an AFC Senior Systems Technician-103 to support maintenance and repair of all automated fare collection devices across the Bus and Subway systems. You will diagnose, repair, and service electronic and electromechanical modules, and assist AFC Systems Technicians as needed.

Requirements include a Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical license, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 70 lbs. Willingness to work varied shifts and locations is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Massachusetts Journeyman Electrical license required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Three years of electronics/electromechanical maintenance experience.
• English language skills required for job duties.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot AFC equipment defects using work orders or guidance.
• Repair and maintain AFC equipment and components at bench level.
• Diagnose electrical/electromechanical modules and PCBs by replacement.
• Troubleshoot network and dataflow for LAN/WAN issues in stations.
• Utilize CCS/FareGo Data software for diagnosis and corrections.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records in Service Now.
• Respond to emergencies, shifts, and various locations as needed.
