Job summary

The Bengtson Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to support a busy aesthetic surgery environment in Grand Rapids. You will scrub, prepare instruments, and assist surgeons, nurses, and staff throughout procedures.

Roles include maintaining the sterile field, processing instrumentation, and ensuring patient safety with standardized aseptic techniques. A CST certification is preferred, with options for part-time or full-time schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred.
• Experience as a surgical technologist and understanding the tasks of the position.
• Knowledge/experience with sterile processing.
• Organize and prioritize work independently and collaboratively.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred (MedSpa or Plastic Surgery).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of all surgical procedures and anticipates surgeon needs.
• Scrubs for NVSS team and assists with instrument prep and setup.
• Sets up, maintains, and breaks down the sterile field.
• Assists surgical team during procedures by providing instruments as needed.
• Maintains aseptic technique and knowledge of instruments and processing.
• May function as second assistant and collaborates with team.
