Gritman Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in operative and invasive procedures by preparing and providing instruments, supplies, and equipment, while maintaining the sterile field. The role requires strict aseptic technique and coordination with the surgical team to ensure efficiency and safety.

You will follow AST standards, assist with instrument counts, room turnover, and inventory control to support safe, high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal operating room technician training program.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in perioperative surgical support is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a scrub person during procedures by assembling supplies and equipment for the procedure.
• Prepares and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and ensures sterility of the field.
• Cleans and prepares surgical instruments for processing and transports them to decontamination.
• Assists with post-procedure cleaning and room turnover for subsequent patients.
• Follows established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, and storing supplies.
• Performs instrument counts with the circulating nurse according to policy.
• Assists with equipment and inventory control within Surgical Services.
• Participates in orientation of new personnel and adheres to safety regulations.
