Job summary

Blue Origin’s Lunar Permanence team seeks a tooling and GSE specialist to translate design requirements into effective tooling, fixtures, and ground support solutions for lunar vehicle production.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and operations to optimize processes, ensure manufacturability, and maintain engineering documentation across the full lifecycle of tooling and GSE development.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, tooling design, GSE design, production support, or hardware development.
• Designing, developing, releasing, and implementing tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, or other GSE for mechanical assemblies.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability/assembly.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, and Ground Support Equipment for efficient manufacturing, assembly, integration, and test of flight hardware.
• Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, technicians, quality, and operations to develop new build processes and tooling concepts.
• Plan and support builds of engineering demonstrators, test articles, and prototype hardware, providing hands-on support during fabrication, assembly, and testing.
• Drive producibility assessments and roadmaps to bridge manufacturing technology gaps.
• Develop, release, and maintain engineering documentation for tooling and production implementation.
• Support tooling fabrication, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
