Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
One to two years of related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and communicate effectively.
Ability to calculate basic proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Study blueprints, sketches and drawings to determine dimensions and setup requirements.
Measure, mark and scribe dimensions on materials for machining.
Operate mills, lathes and other precision equipment to fabricate tooling and fixtures.
Verify finished parts meet specifications and adjust as needed.
Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve machining issues.
Handle and move hazardous materials following safety protocols when required.
