Chromalloy in Tampa, FL seeks a Tool Maker to analyze specifications and set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC machines. You will fabricate and repair tools and gauges, ensuring precision and conformity to drawings.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting fixtures and cutting tools, setting controls, and verifying dimensions. The role supports aviation component manufacturing with potential overtime; safety and regulatory training required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions; write routine reports and correspondence; and communicate with groups.
• Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry.
• Training in loading, labeling, transferring, and moving hazardous materials per RCRA regulations.

Responsabilités

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and setup requirements.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials for machining.
• Select and secure fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials on mills, lathes, and grinders.
• Set machining controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut; input program data.
• Start, observe, and adjust machine operations; identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Verify finished parts meet specs and perform trial runs to confirm settings.
• Assemble parts and verify assembly dimensions and alignment; install machined replacement parts.
• Develop specifications from general descriptions and create sketches of parts to be fabricated.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve machining or assembly issues.
