Job summary

Saab is seeking a Technical Writer in West Lafayette, IN to support the T-7A Redhawk program. You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guiding inspectors and ensuring high-quality documentation across shifts.

Responsibilities include NCRs, FAIs, MRBs, and nonconformance investigations; develop best practices and ensure compliance with ISO9001/AS9100. Must be a U.S. citizen. Saab offers growth opportunities and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• As degree or 3 years in manufacturing quality required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing/quality operations required.
• Interpret and revise documentation for consistency and efficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative problem-solving.
• Able to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and train inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify recurring quality issues and establish corrective actions.
• Develop best practices for technical writing across the organization.
• Responsible for NCRs, inspection plans/FAIs, MRBs and related docs.
• Develop knowledge of customer/industry quality requirements.
• Facilitate controls to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
• Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Promote Saab values and a people-first culture; support teams.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
