Job summary

Saab West Lafayette in Indiana is seeking a Technical Writer to join a team manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk for the U.S. Air Force.

You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guiding inspectors across shifts, and ensuring high-quality documentation for NCRs, FAIs, MRBs, and control plans. The role requires an AS degree in Quality or Technical Writing or 3 years in manufacturing quality; BS in a related STEM field is preferred.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline or 3 years’ related experience in manufacturing quality.
• Experience in manufacturing/quality operations and ability to articulate technical requirements.
• Ability to interpret and revise documentation/work instructions for consistency and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and guide inspectors across shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify recurring quality issues and establish corrective actions.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and update them as needed.
• Prepare NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, MRB dispositions.
• Ensure knowledge of customer/industry quality standards and compliance.
