Saab is seeking a Technical Writer in West Lafayette, IN to join a team manufacturing the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft for the USAF. You’ll serve as SME for technical writing, guide inspectors, and ensure quality documentation across multiple shifts.

Role includes generating NCRs, inspection/FS plans, FAIs, MRBs, and maintaining compliance with ISO/AS standards. Collaboration and strong communication are essential for success in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline or 3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required.
• Ability to interpret and revise written documentation/work instructions for consistency and efficient repetition.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the local SME for technical writing and provide guidance/training for inspectors across multiple shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify common/repeated quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Develop best practices for technical writing throughout the organization; maintain and update best practices as needed.
• Responsible for NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Develop strong working knowledge of quality requirements as defined by customer/industry standards.
• Facilitate controls/solutions to provide high-quality products within schedule.
• Act as primary contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Contribute to a people-first culture in alignment to Saab values: Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
