Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team that manufactures the rear section of the T-7A Redhawk aircraft for the U.S. Air Force.

You will serve as the local SME for technical writing, guiding inspectors across shifts and partnering with quality to improve documentation. The role emphasizes generating NCRs, inspection plans, FAIs, MRBs, and aligning with ISO/AS9100 quality requirements.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline OR 3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required.
• Ability to interpret and revise relevant written documentation / work instructions for consistency and efficient repetition is critical.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the local SME for technical writing and provide guidance/training for inspectors across multiple shifts.
• Report on writing performance and turnaround time to leadership.
• Identify common/repeated quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Develop best practices for technical writing and maintain/update them as needed.
• Responsible for NCRs, Inspection Plans/Control Plans, FAIs, and MRB dispositions.
• Develop strong working knowledge of customer/industry quality requirements.
• Facilitate controls/solutions to provide high-quality products within schedule.
• Act as primary point of contact in non-conformance investigations and material assessments.
• Contribute to a people-first culture aligned to Saab values.
