Job summary

Shield AI seeks a highly skilled Supplier Development Engineer focused on machined parts. You will improve supplier processes, conduct on-site audits, and guide suppliers on part specifications and manufacturing standards to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Key duties include tracking supplier performance, enabling NPI phases, and mitigating supply chain risks to support affordable and scalable production.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in supply chain, manufacturing or process engineering.
• Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA or equivalent.
• Strong data analysis, Excel skills and ability to read GD&T.
• Familiarity with PLM or ERP systems and supplier development.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including international travel.
• Experience working with suppliers or production lines to solve quality and delivery issues.

Responsibilities

• Audit and embed into supplier processes to improve cost, lead-times, and quality.
• Conduct on-site audits to identify root causes of supplier quality issues.
• Assess and improve supplier capabilities aligned with engineering and operations.
• Provide technical guidance on part specs, manufacturing processes, and quality measures.
• Monitor supplier performance; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement.
