Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer focused on machined parts, to enhance supplier performance for quality, on-time delivery and cost. You will lead process improvements, conduct on-site audits, and support NPI with suppliers to meet design and production goals.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in supply chain or manufacturing engineering, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/NX/CATIA), and experience with PLM/ERP systems in aerospace contexts. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

7+ years in supply chain, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering.
CAD tools experience (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA).
Excel/data analysis and PLM/ERP experience.
Ability to read drawings and GD&T.
Travel up to 50%.
Experience with suppliers or production lines.

Responsibilities

Audit and embed into supplier processes to improve cost, lead-times, and quality.
Conduct on-site audits to root cause supplier quality issues.
Assess and improve supplier capabilities aligned with engineering and operations.
Provide technical guidance on part specs, manufacturing processes, and quality measures.
Track and analyze supplier performance metrics (delivery, quality, cost).
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure uninterrupted production.
Support NPI to ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery during development.
