Job summary

Saab is growing its West Lafayette, IN facility and seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk trainer. This role includes training new team members and contributing to our state-of-the-art production system.

Starting hourly rate $23-$25 with a $2 premium for 3rd shift; candidates must have 2+ years assembly experience, read drawings, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structures per standard procedures to ensure 100% quality.
• Train and transfer knowledge to new employees.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off completed work according to specifications.
• Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
