Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN, is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk for the U.S. Air Force. Start date early December 2026 with paid on-site training at our Aerospace Structures Academy.

Responsibilities include assembling aircraft structures, training new team members, and improving production processes in a team-based environment. Travel within shift may be required; 3rd shift premium applies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized procedures to deliver 100% quality on aircraft fuselage assembly.
• Follow work instructions and participate in team-based processes.
• Support daily continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces and perform touch-up painting as required.
• Sign off on completed work per specification.
• Help train and transfer knowledge to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with company values.
