Job summary

MB Aerospace seeks a qualified engineer to lead processing of assigned part families and develop work instructions for repair procedures. You will coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and customers to ensure FAA-compliant repairs and communicate process details through MOS and CAD drawings.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, strong problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines within a team or independently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
  • Preferred 5 years' experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced understanding of machining approaches (lathe, Mill, EDM, etc.), fixturing, heat treatment, welding, brazing and thermal spray.
  • Experience with Syteline or another ERP/MRP software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry specifications, processes, and materials.
  • Experience writing technical publications and repairs, designing alternate repair processes to achieve stated goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to use technology effectively and efficiently to manage workload.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and ability to create documents, reports and briefing materials in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA.
  • FAA mandated pre-employment drug & alcohol screening is required, as well as ongoing random testing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the processing of assigned part families / programs, evaluating and building work orders for each part.
  • Help establish operation sequences, work instructions, and best practices to ensure efficient and safe repair procedures are developed.
  • Provide technical support for procurement, manufacturing, receiving, repair, and certification of repairs.
  • Evaluate parts and assemblies for repair feasibility, producibility, cost, tooling, and outside processing.
  • Conduct and prepare detailed dimensional analysis of sample parts to support development of new repair.
  • Create CAD models and production drawings using ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards. Prepare MOSs to clearly communicate process details to operators.
  • Develop processes to ensure work is performed per FAA regulations, Customers regulations and Repair Station Manual.
  • Coordinate with other departments to develop a unified approach for process improvement of product.
  • Interface with OEMs, customers, regulatory agencies, and project-related people within the Company.
  • Ensure adherence to MB Aerospace internal, federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to compliance and takes responsibility to ensure ongoing conformity with such rules and regulations.
