Job summary

Superior Aerospace Precision Machining is seeking an experienced Manufacturing/Process Engineer to support design, development, and continuous improvement of precision-machined components for aerospace and general aviation. The role is hands-on and focuses on efficient, repeatable, cost-effective production of high-quality parts.

You will interpret drawings, GD&T, and CAD models, develop manufacturing processes, design tooling and fixtures, and work with operators to meet tight specifications.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in aerospace, aviation, or precision manufacturing.
  • Strong GD&T (ANSI Y14.5) knowledge.
  • Understanding of process control and machining workflows.
  • Troubleshooting CNC and NC programming.
  • Ability to read G-code and use parametric macros.
  • MasterCAM (2024+) CAM programming proficiency.
  • CAD proficiency: AutoCAD or BricsCAD; Creo Parametric.
  • Microsoft 365 suite proficiency.
  • Experience with quality systems, document control, and contract review.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and 3D CAD models.
  • Create, update, and manage 2D/3D CAD models.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for CNC/manual machining.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and work-holding solutions.
  • Build routing sheets, travelers, and time/labor standards.
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, and process issues.
  • Support quality, document control, and production workflows.
  • Collaborate with operators and production staff to meet specs.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency gains, and cost reductions.
