Job summary

Futuramic in Warren, MI seeks a Build Process Manufacturing Engineer to plan and execute jobs from start to finish within budget and schedule. You will order materials, design and revise CAD drawings, and coordinate with Operations to optimize manufacturing efficiency.

You will evaluate design packages, develop work instructions and BOMs, track hours, and lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field.
• Five years prior work experience in a tooling/manufacturing environment in the aerospace industry
• CAD software knowledge required.
• CATIA V5, NX, or Equivalent software knowledge (Solidworks, Pro E, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Material ordering within specifications required by the customer.
• Create and/or revise 3D designs and/or 2D drawings in accordance with internal or customer requirements.
• Measure detail in CAD data, record, and double check accuracy.
• Communicate with Operations and key stakeholders to discuss manufacturing concerns and provide solutions.
• Oversee key projects, processes, data, and analysis.
• Apply continuous improvement and root cause corrective action.
• Recognize and participate in cross functional Integrated Process Teams.
• Evaluate released design packages to develop manufacturing plan, work instructions and BOM.
• Review estimates and budgeted hours, then develop WBS and apply standard hours to work centers.
• Reconcile BOM against open orders to validate needs for manufacturing.
• Participate on shop floor to validate work instructions, BOM, and process specifications.
• Work with internal and external contacts to develop solutions to complex technical issues.
• Host meetings to plan execution of build plans on a job-to-job basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
