Job summary

Pratt & Whitney’s North Berwick Engineering Center is seeking a Mechanical Repair Design Engineer to develop innovative repair solutions for aircraft engine hardware across product lines. You’ll work on compressor and turbine components, gain exposure to FEA, analyses, manufacturing processes, and project management, collaborating with engineers and customers to deliver safe, cost-effective repairs.

This onsite role in North Berwick, ME requires a background in mechanical/aerospace engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degree acceptable with related experience.
• Demonstrates ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve mechanical or aerospace issues.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hardware and repair options by performing engineering calculations and assessments to determine part acceptability, identify repair requirements, and develop solutions that meet standards and customer needs.
• Develop production-ready repair documentation by authoring part- and assembly-level repair instructions, technical data, and procedures for manufacturing and maintenance use.
• Deliver cost-effective repair solutions by collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet technical requirements, quality expectations, and timelines.
• Support new product development by participating in design reviews as the aftermarket engineering representative and applying Engineering Standard Work to identify repairability and sustainment opportunities.
• Resolve field and aftermarket engineering issues by investigating hardware conditions and coordinating with relevant disciplines to provide timely recommendations.
