Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician II to support the Quality Engineering group with First Article Inspection, Part Approval, and selective inspection.

You will manage NC material processing, document test activities, and assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives using A3 and Six Sigma tools. Responsibilities include handling FAI submissions, maintaining records, and coordinating with QE teams, suppliers, and customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1-2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical inspection methods and skills including surface plate work, hand tools, and gages
• Solid ability to read and understand drawing requirements including a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance to ANSI Y14.5
• Basic knowledge of FAI validation and verification process requirements
• Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and specification systems
• Must be able to fill out the necessary flight test documentation
• Must be able to properly document any/all non-conformances encountered
• Must have the skills necessary to perform pre and post-flight visual inspections on flight hardware and components
• Must possess the skills necessary to remove and replace field replaceable components on aircraft

Responsibilities

• Process inbound or outbound FAI and deliverable submissions accurately and timely
• Represent and support QEs during internal and 3rd party audits
• Create Final Inspection documentation package including COC, TDRs, etc.
• Support shipping, contracts, and inspections coordination for timely delivery
• Maintain records and files for submissions and inspection results
• Provide general QE support including Corrective Action Request processing and data analysis
• Work on semi-routine assignments with attention to documentation and quality systems
• Travel to remote flying sites as needed and assist with NC processes
