Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team manufacturing rear sections of the T-7A Redhawk trainer aircraft for the U.S. Air Force.

You will lead technical writing, NCRs, FAIs, and MRB dispositions while ensuring conformance to ISO quality standards. Ideal candidates have an AS degree in quality or technical writing (or 3 years in a manufacturing quality role) and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline OR 3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role required.
• Previous technical writing experience in manufacturing or quality operation is required
• Ability to articulate technical requirements for electro‑mechanical assembly
• Ability to revise documentation for consistency and efficiency
• Strong written and verbal communication; collaborative problem solver

Responsabilités

• Serve as local SME for technical writing and guide inspectors across shifts
• Report writing performance and turnaround times to leadership
• Identify quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Develop and update best practices for technical writing
• Handle NCRs, Inspection/Control Plans, FAIs, MRB dispositions
• Know quality requirements per customer/industry standards
• Ensure high‑quality products meet schedules
• Primary contact for non‑conformance investigations and material assessments
• Contribute to a people‑first Saab culture and values
• Assist with other projects as assigned

Formation

AS Degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or related STEM discipline

BS degree in related STEM discipline (preferred)

3 years’ related experience in a manufacturing quality role

Strong written and verbal communication

Ability to interpret technical product/process requirements

Collaboration and problem-solving
