Job summary

RTCA is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform dimensional and visual inspections across raw materials, in-process parts, and finished components in a Rockford, MI facility. You will interpret engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T and verify conformance to AS9100/ISO standards, maintaining detailed QA records.

The role supports or leads advanced inspection activities, participates in CAPA, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure quality objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within aerospace/manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, specs, and doc.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Proficiency using standard inspection equipment.
• Understanding of inspection methods and basic shop math/trigonometry.
• Accurate completion of inspection and quality documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, assemblies, and finished components.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications per ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Verify conformance to customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements including AS9100/ISO standards.
• Maintain inspection records, traceability, and QA documentation.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 documentation.
• Identify nonconforming conditions and collaborate on containment/resolution.
• Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Train or mentor other inspectors as needed.
