Job summary

RTCA, a precision aerospace and defense manufacturing group headquartered in California, seeks a Quality Inspector for our Simi Valley site. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, and finished components, interpreting drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T and verifying conformance to AS9100/ISO standards.

The role supports production and quality objectives, may lead advanced inspection tasks, and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within aerospace, precision machining, or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Proficiency using standard inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and related precision tools.
• Understanding of inspection methods, measurement techniques, and basic shop math/trigonometry.
• Ability to accurately complete inspection and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, assemblies, and finished components.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications per AS9100/ISO standards.
• Verify conformance to customer, regulatory, and internal requirements.
• Maintain inspection records and traceability documentation.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and AS9102 documentation.
• Identify nonconforming conditions with cross-functional teams.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain clean, organized inspection staging areas and documentation control.
