Job summary

Safran in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a Project Engineer 2 to lead engineering and technical aspects of a product system. The role is the primary technical contact for design, development, qualification, certification, and integration, with input on budget, procurement, and scheduling.

The PE2 may supervise 1-10 design engineers and leads moderate NRE/medium-high revenue programs, coordinating across facilities while ensuring FAA/EASA certification requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience working on aircraft products with expanding responsibilities relating to program execution.
• At least three (3) years on programs requiring FAA or EASA certification.
• 3-7 years of experience in Project Management.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required to support customer meetings and design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Primary technical contact for the project internally and externally.
• Creates and manages the Features Analysis / Long Lead item list to ensure an on-time FAI.
• Issues design memorandums and meeting minutes.
• Notifies certification departments of design changes that impact certification aspects.
• Coordinates integration across facilities and BUs to ensure smooth production start.
