Job summary

Safran is seeking a Senior Certification Engineer to drive regulatory compliance for airborne equipment development and installation on transport category aircraft. You will lead certification deliverables, coordinate with FAA/EASA and customers, and ensure conformance to airworthiness standards throughout product lifecycle.

The role emphasizes testing, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and suppliers to secure formal approvals and robust safety cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 6-10 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in designing, manufacturing and certifying aircraft components and systems
• Experience interfacing with FAA or EASA in certification environments
• Experience in AS9100 quality environments
• Knowledge of FAA Part 21, 23 & 25 and EASA CS Part 21 & 25 related to airborne IFE equipment
• Familiar with cabin interior requirements and environmental testing

Responsibilities

• Identify and document appropriate test levels for environmental, electrical and flammability testing of new LRU designs and product improvements
• Develop, review, approve and release Certification documents to specify requirements that establish compliance with airworthiness requirements
• Coordinate with aircraft system integrators and customers to achieve regulatory approval of the Certification data package
• Coordinate with design engineers, technicians, external suppliers and test facilities to specify equipment for test execution
• Represent the company and interface directly with the FAA and customers
