Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Product and Process Development Engineer to lead hardware development from concept to production for New Glenn components. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, qualify, and integrate manufacturing processes and tooling for high-precision aerospace parts.

Qualifications

  • BS degree or higher in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineer, or related field.
  • 5+ Years experience as a Manufacturing/Materials/Process/engineer.
  • Proven experience with aerospace hardware, assembly, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience with CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, and MS Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-level manufacturing plans defining flow of components through fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability and Producibility input to design teams for components and systems.
  • Develop prototype and qualification hardware and tooling to improve and qualify designs.
  • Design, procure, install, and integrate custom manufacturing equipment and tools.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery meeting requirements.
  • Identify and deploy new technologies to improve quality, reduce cost, and outputs.
  • Support hardware transition from development to production, including first article and qualification units.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, efficiency, quality and reduce cycle time.
  • Travel periodically to collaborate with production, engineering, management, and suppliers.
