Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Product and Process Development Engineer to advance hardware from concept to production for New Glenn. You will shape manufacturing plans, provide DFx input, and develop prototype tooling to speed flight hardware readiness.

You will work with design and production teams to deploy new technologies, ensure on-time delivery, and lead improvements that reduce cost and cycle time across early production environments.

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in manufacturing-related field; aerospace experience preferred.
• Experience with CNC machining, forming, drilling, and aerospace assemblies.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, and work instructions.
• Strong work ethic, detail oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced team.
• Experience in product design or manufacturing environment and flight hardware qualification.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-level manufacturing plans defining fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment flows.
• Provide DFx input to design teams for manufacturability and producibility.
• Develop prototype and qualification hardware and tooling with design teams.
• Design, procure, install, and integrate custom manufacturing equipment and tools.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time, on-budget hardware delivery.
• Identify and deploy new technologies to improve quality, reduce cost, and output.
• Support hardware transition from development to production with first article units.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance safety, efficiency, and reduce defects.
