Job summary

AV (AeroVironment) offers a paid 12-week Summer Internship Program in Product Engineering. Interns work onsite with AV teams on real projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, development, testing, and product launch while building professional relationships and problem-solving skills.

Ideal candidates are highly motivated college students or recent grads with a 3.0+ GPA, pursuing STEM degrees, and willing to relocate for relocation/housing stipends depending on location.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Strong foundation in engineering, physics and mathematics.
• Interest in the product development lifecycle—from concept to production.
• Familiar with design principles, testing methods and project coordination.
• Proficient with MS Office and data or project management tools.
• Excellent communication, organization and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in improving product development processes using best practices and lean methods.
• Support cross-discipline teams through meetings, documentation and tracking to meet schedules.
• Participate in subsystem design, characterization and performance evaluations under guidance.
• Assist in prototype builds and coordinate with suppliers and service providers.
• Help track and manage engineering tasks, schedules and issues with PM tools.
• Attend design and technical review meetings to observe decision-making processes.
• Support documentation, data collection and test result analysis.
• Learn and apply company policies and standard procedures.
