Job summary

The AeroVironment Summer Internship Program offers a 12-week, onsite, paid engineering experience in the aerospace and defense sector. Interns work with AV teams on meaningful projects related to unmanned systems, test equipment, and product development, while building professional relationships.

Applicants must be enrolled in a related B.S. program with at least a 3.0 GPA; relocation/housing stipends may be available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in EE, ME, or SE with 0–2 years relevant experience.
• Experience in test development, lab, or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with bug reporting and root-cause analysis.
• Exposure to Object-Oriented Programming (C# or LabVIEW)

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, deploying, and upgrading test equipment.
• Support C# / OOP software development using the Visual Studio IDE.
• Develop test software programs in C#.
• Collaborate to develop test plans, gather requirements, and create test strategies.
• Analyze, process, and format test results following standard practices.
• Meet project deliverables and timelines in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Support cross-functional teams across engineering disciplines.
• Provide feedback to product design on testability.
• Develop test cases for power conversion devices, motor control systems, and avionics components.
• Execute functional and performance tests on avionics components under supervision.
• Learn and apply AV procedures to resolve routine issues.
• Work with detailed instructions and mentorship.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
