Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking engineers to develop spacecraft motion control and actuation systems, and to perform high-reliability mechanical design for aerospace applications. You will generate documentation, support assembly and testing, and review test data for continuous improvement.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years designing moving mechanisms with SolidWorks. GD&T experience is required to ensure precise tolerances.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 2+ years designing moving mechanisms.
  • Proficient with CAD/analysis tools (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
  • GD&T experience with drawings and tolerance stack ups.

Responsibilities

  • Develop spacecraft motion control and actuation systems
  • Mechanical systems design including bearings, gears, motors, and rotating mechanisms
  • High reliability mechanical design and analysis for aerospace applications
  • Generate design documentation and vendor specifications
  • Support assembly and test including environmental testing, shock, vibration and thermal
  • Review test data and recommend changes to products and/or processes
