Job summary

Blue Origin's Honeybee Robotics in Colorado is seeking a mechanically minded engineer to design motion control and actuation systems for aerospace hardware, with a focus on high-reliability mechanical design and supporting mission-critical spaceflight projects.

You will generate design documentation, review test data, and support assembly and environmental testing, collaborating with a cross-functional team and leading initiatives to mitigate technical roadblocks.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years designing moving mechanisms.
• Proficient with CAD and analysis tools (SolidWorks preferred).
• Excellent reporting and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop spacecraft motion control and actuation systems
• Mechanical systems design including bearings, gears, motors, and rotating mechanisms
• High reliability mechanical design and analysis for aerospace applications
• Generate design documentation and vendor specifications
• Support assembly and test including environmental testing, shock, vibration and thermal
• Review test data and recommend changes to products and/or processes
• Proactively identify roadblocks to technical progress and take steps to mitigate/avoid
