Job summary

Blue Origin's Motion Control Business Unit in Colorado seeks a manufacturing engineer to plan, design, and execute fabrication for electrical aerospace assemblies. You will work on developing production processes, ground support equipment, and detailed work instructions for avionics hardware.

Ideal candidates have a strong hands-on mindset, 2+ years in aerospace electrical systems, and proficiency in 3D CAD. The role includes relocation support and up to 5% travel, with a Monday–Friday 5/8 shift.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical/related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with complex electrical aerospace or space hardware.
  • Experience operating, diagnosing, and dispositioning non-conforming electrical hardware, harnesses, software, and/or firmware.
  • Electrical assembly including SMT and PTH, cable, crimp, harness, PCBA rework/repair, bonding/staking.
  • Familiarity with NASA/IPC/DO-254 standards and Space Addendum.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Creo)
  • DFMA principles in design development.
  • Strong communication, organization and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support to the technician team for rapid issue resolution in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Support troubleshooting and disposition of non-conforming avionics hardware, software, firmware, and electrical systems via detailed work instructions.
  • Assist in isolation, containment, and resolution of NC parts and assemblies.
  • Participate in RCA/RCAs to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Support design and operational gated reviews with technical artifacts and readiness assessments.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to implement Engineering Change Requests to improve manufacturability.
  • Partner with design teams to support DFMA improvements prior to design release.
  • Generate manufacturing work instructions, routings and control plans.
