Job summary

United Launch Alliance invites applications for a Material and Process Engineering Intern position. You will work with engineers on launch vehicle parts, materials, and processes, gaining hands-on experience with metals, polymers, composites, and additive manufacturing.

You will analyze test data and prepare technical reports and documentation. We seek motivated STEM students, able to commit 10 weeks in Summer 2027, and enrolled Fall 2027.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.00 on a 4.00 scale; unofficial transcript may be required.
• Valid driver’s license if assigned to Alabama, California, Florida or Pueblo, CO.
• Must commit to full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support materials selection, characterization, and qualification of metals, polymers, composites, and additively manufactured components.
• Assist in developing and improving material, process, and manufacturing specifications.
• Analyze test data and prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
• Participate in material failure investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Support evaluation of material properties and performance in demanding launch environments.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, databases, and materials requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, lab activities, and hardware reviews.
