Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience across flight hardware analysis, design, and systems engineering tasks. You will support analysis projects, tool development, and supplier interactions while shadowing experienced engineers.

The role requires active STEM degree pursuit, summer 2027 enrollment, and a 10-week full-time commitment, with exposure to NX, NASTRAN, SolidWorks, and CREO. Travel to multiple ULA locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Active pursuit of a bachelor's degree in a STEM field from an accredited college or university.
• Plans to be enrolled in Fall Semester 2027.
• Able to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks in Summer 2027.
• Working knowledge of basic engineering tools (NX, NASTRAN, SolidWorks, Mathcad, CREO, other design/analysis tools).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis on existing flight hardware and assist in design/development of future hardware.
• Conduct data analysis, support tool design/analysis projects, and participate in trade studies.
• Shadow engineers and gain exposure to systems engineering, quality, safety, and launch operations.
• Travel to suppliers or other ULA locations as needed.
